The Beaumont Hotel is not just a place to stay; it’s a haven of elegance and exceptional service that transports you to another era. From the moment you step through the doors, you’re enveloped in a world of refined luxury and attention to detail.
Exceptional Service from Start to Finish
The welcoming staff greets you with warmth and professionalism, guiding you through the hotel and ensuring a smooth check-in process. This personalized touch extends throughout your stay, from the attentive service in the restaurants and bars to the seamless departure.
Every aspect of your experience is meticulously crafted to create an unforgettable journey.
A Sanctuary of Tranquility: The Beaumont Spa
Tucked away in the basement, the Beaumont Spa is a true oasis of peace. White marble walls and Art Deco accents create a serene atmosphere, a world away from the bustling streets of Mayfair.
Indulge in a wide array of pampering treatments, from soothing massages and rejuvenating facials to relaxing hammam experiences. Manicures and pedicures are also available, along with hairdressing and grooming services.
The Beaumont Spa boasts a fully equipped gymnasium, perfect for maintaining your fitness routine, along with a revitalizing sauna, steam room, and a refreshing cold plunge pool.
This is a spa experience you won’t soon forget.
A Room Designed for Comfort and Luxury
My fourth-floor haven, room 412, overlooked the picturesque Brown Hart Gardens, offering a tranquil escape from the city’s hustle. While the weather wasn’t ideal during my visit, the step-out balcony with floor-to-ceiling doors provided a delightful outdoor space.
The spacious entrance area featured fitted wardrobes equipped with deluxe wooden hangers, a safe, shoe care essentials, and an umbrella, ensuring all your needs were met.
The bathroom, which I’ll delve into later, was a marvel of luxury and design.
The main bedroom, a sanctuary of comfort, boasted a plush king-size bed with exquisite monogrammed linens. Beside the bed, you’ll find thoughtful amenities like a traditional alarm clock, a modern phone, a reading book, paper and pen, an accessories tray, and a delightful touch – a set of playing cards and traditional games.
A large writing desk with a gleaming polished traditional wood finish, two comfortable armchairs, and a small coffee table with an array of treats upon arrival, made the room feel like a welcoming haven.
Mineral water, a fully stocked mini-bar, a Nespresso machine, and tea-making facilities are also included.
My favorite aspect of the room, aside from its luxurious amenities, was the stunning view from the large windows overlooking Brown Hart Gardens and the London skyline.
A Symphony of Elegance and Detail
The Beaumont Hotel is a testament to meticulous design and craftsmanship. From the polished dark and lacquered woods to the gleaming glass and chrome, and the sparkling marble and tiled walls and floors in the spa and bathrooms, everything exudes an air of sophistication and cleanliness.
The hotel has a wonderfully calming and relaxing ambience, reminiscent of a scene from an Agatha Christie novel. The soundproofed bedrooms ensured a peaceful night’s sleep, and the staff was always eager to assist with any request.
A Bathroom Fit for Royalty
The bathroom is a masterpiece of design and functionality. Marble lined and tiled with gleaming white fittings, mirrored and chrome accents, the space exudes a vintage Art Deco charm.
A full-sized bath and a walk-in shower with an overhead rain shower head provide ultimate bathing luxury. A large marble vanity unit features a single sink and an array of bathroom essentials.
The bespoke toiletries from D.R. Harris & Co, specialists in men’s grooming products from St. James’s London, are a luxurious touch. Everything from shampoo and body wash bars to body lotion, conditioner, hand soap, and bath salts is provided.
While initially I was surprised by the lack of shower gel, I soon discovered the sustainability reasons behind the choice of body wash and separate shampoo bars. The hotel’s commitment to environmental responsibility is commendable.
The luxurious amenities and attention to detail elevate the bathroom experience to a whole new level.
A Culinary Journey: From Breakfast to Dinner
The hotel’s Colony Grill, the main restaurant, offers a delectable breakfast experience. Included as part of my Virtuoso benefits, I enjoyed a lavish spread that surpassed expectations.
The extensive menu is divided into sections, featuring everything from classic pastries like croissants, pain au chocolat, and muffins to a selection of cold breakfast items, pancakes, French toast, and duck egg hashes. Hot breakfast options, including porridge, bacon rolls, and crushed avocado on granary toast, are also available.
The attentive service and the incredible variety of options ensure that breakfast at the Beaumont is an experience in itself.
The main bar, Le Magritte Bar, located just off the main lobby, is a popular spot for pre-dinner drinks. However, it can be busy, even on weekdays.
Gatsby’s Lounge bar, with its exceptional service, provided a more intimate setting for a pre-dinner glass of champagne or a cocktail. The welcoming atmosphere and the personalized service made it a delightful experience.
Dinner at the Colony Grill Room was a culinary highlight of my stay. The stunningly designed restaurant offers a diverse menu with something for everyone, including a dedicated vegetarian menu.
The service, like throughout the hotel, was exemplary.
The highlight of my meal was the Colony Grill Bespoke Sundae. The sundae bar allowed guests to create their own personalized masterpiece, choosing from a selection of ice cream flavors, toppings, and sauces.
The delicious food, coupled with the attentive service and the inviting ambiance, made dinner at the Beaumont an unforgettable experience.
A Timeless Legacy: The History of the Beaumont
The Beaumont Hotel, with its grand 1920s aesthetic, embodies the spirit of a bygone era. But behind its elegant facade lies a fascinating history.
The building began its life as a four-story car park with a petrol station. Over the course of its 100-year lifespan, it has served as offices and an Avis rent-a-car location.
After undergoing extensive renovations, the building was reborn as the Beaumont Hotel in 2014. The hotel’s Art Deco facade is the only original element remaining.
The Colony Grill Room retains its original clubby Twenties New York atmosphere, offering a glimpse into a bygone era.
The Beaumont Hotel is a testament to the power of transformation, blending history and contemporary luxury seamlessly.
It’s an experience that leaves a lasting impression.
