Calling all London lovers! My friend, Natalie, and I recently embarked on a spontaneous trip to London and Paris. It was a magical Christmas adventure – exploring festive markets, shopping ’til we dropped, and soaking up the holiday cheer. The highlight? Our whirlwind day trip to London! So, if you’re planning a similar adventure and want to squeeze in a quick taste of the city, read on for our ultimate guide!
Making the Most of a London Day Trip
We’ve both been to London a handful of times (you can find my London Fashion Week experience here!), so we knew the drill. We hopped on a 5:00 AM train from Paris and were ready to conquer the city! Now, if you’re a first-timer, I suggest staying in London for at least a couple of nights to truly soak in the city’s magic. However, if you’re short on time, or have a long layover between flights, this day-trip itinerary is perfect for you!
Prioritizing Your Must-Sees
To make the most of your time in London, it’s essential to prioritize your sightseeing destinations. We chose to rent a private car to zip around the city, which I highly recommend if you’re on a tight schedule. However, for a budget-friendly option, the double-decker sightseeing buses are the way to go. They offer hop-on hop-off access, allowing you to explore the city at your own pace. Plus, they’ll take you to all the must-see sights in London. (I used this method during a visit with Blair, and it was a blast!)
