A Luxurious Retreat for Two

For my husband and I, celebrating our 10th wedding anniversary, the Chesterfield was the perfect escape. Our elegant Philippe Suite, adorned in navy and cream tones and shimmering with three crystal chandeliers, felt like stepping back in time. The room, a symphony of antique furniture, offered a welcome respite from the hustle and bustle of the city.

It was a delightful change of pace to be in an environment where our belongings could be displayed on a solid silver valet stand and our children’s imaginations could run wild exploring the hidden compartments of an antique writing bureau. My husband, ever the patient soul, happily settled into the chaise longue, enjoying a glass of sherry.

Immersed in London’s Charm

The Chesterfield’s location provides the perfect base for exploring London’s iconic landmarks. Just a short walk from Tiffany’s on Bond Street and the vibrant restaurants and theaters of Covent Garden, we spent our evenings immersing ourselves in the city’s captivating energy.

But the real gem of the Chesterfield is its intimate bar and its gin experience. Led by the knowledgeable James, the barman extraordinaire, we embarked on a journey through the world of gin.

The Chesterfield boasts an impressive collection of 22 gin varieties, meticulously curated for the perfect gin and tonic experience. The bar offers four tasting menus, each featuring three gins paired with their complementary tonic. Each selection is served on a unique gin tray, showcasing the essential ingredients for crafting the perfect G&T.

We opted for the Premium Tasting and were enthralled by the exquisite flavors. From the dry London Gin No 3, with its blueberry and grapefruit notes, to the spiced sensation of Monkey 47, each gin offered a unique sensory experience.

The Chesterfield’s Gin Experience is a must-try for any gin aficionado. Its elegant presentation, knowledgeable staff, and exceptional selection of gins create an unforgettable experience.

A Touch of Nostalgia

As we ascended the stairs to our suite, the weight of time seemed to press down upon us. My husband suddenly recalled the traditional gift associated with our 10th anniversary: tin.

“It’s meant to be tin!” he exclaimed, a touch of amusement in his voice.

And so, our anniversary weekend at the Chesterfield, filled with luxurious comfort, captivating experiences, and a dash of nostalgia, came to a close.
