London is a city brimming with charm, history, and of course, luxury. During my recent trip to Europe, I had the pleasure of spending a night at the St. Pancras Renaissance, a hotel that has always held a special place in my heart. I initially booked a standard room using Marriott points, but my stay turned into something extraordinary thanks to a lucky series of events.
A Suite Night Award with a Twist
You know how Marriott’s Suite Night Awards work, right? You can get them as a perk when you reach certain elite status levels, and they can be used to upgrade your hotel stay. But these awards aren’t always easy to use. They usually don’t confirm until a few days before your stay, and often, they just don’t clear.
I was thrilled when my suite night award cleared five days before my arrival at the St. Pancras. But that wasn’t the end of the surprises. The highest category available for an upgrade with my suite night award was the Chambers Junior Suite, but something even better was in store.
A Grand Upgrade: From Junior Suite to Grand Staircase Suite
The day before my arrival, I noticed in the Marriott app that my room type had changed to a “Grand Junior Suite”. I was happy with the upgrade, but I didn’t know what to expect. My family and I arrived early in the morning, and when we checked in, the friendly desk agent informed us with excitement that we had been upgraded to a “Grand Staircase Suite”. I was blown away!
I was initially skeptical, as I hadn’t seen any change in the app. But when our room became available later that afternoon, I noticed that my room type in the app indeed changed to a “Grand Staircase Suite”. This stunning suite far exceeded my expectations, and I could barely contain my excitement!
Luxury at its Finest: The Grand Staircase Suite
The Grand Staircase Suite was everything I had hoped for and more. It was an amazing space, with a unique design that made me feel like I was living in a grand historical building. While the stairs were a bit of a concern with the kids, everything worked out perfectly, and we had a memorable stay.
The luxury of the St. Pancras was evident in every detail. The attention to detail, the high-quality furnishings, and the exceptional service made for a truly unforgettable experience.
A Delicious Dishoom Delivery
My family and I were looking forward to a delicious meal at the nearby Dishoom Indian restaurant, but our kids were exhausted from our travels, so we decided to order delivery. The food was amazing, and I highly recommend the Ruby Chicken, but I also have to mention the room service pizza.
We ordered a single kids’ pizza from the St. Pancras room service, and I was amused by the tiny pizza box. It was almost comical, considering the size of the pizza! It was definitely enough for our two kids, who were too tired to eat much anyway, but it was still hilarious to see such a small pizza in such a large box.
A Must-Visit Destination
Overall, our stay at the St. Pancras Renaissance was fantastic. The hotel’s luxurious atmosphere, the extraordinary upgrade, and the delicious food made for a truly memorable experience. If you’re looking for a luxury stay in London, I highly recommend this exceptional hotel.
