A Unique Treehouse Escape in London

Imagine this: you’re feeling a little down, but you need a dose of festive cheer. London, with its dazzling Christmas lights, calls out to you! And what better way to experience this magic than by staying in a unique and eco-friendly hotel?

This is exactly what happened to me last December. I was looking for a hotel that offered a special experience, ideally located near London’s most vibrant shopping areas. That’s when I stumbled upon the Treehouse Hotel, a hidden gem that opened its doors just a few months prior.

A City Oasis With a Treehouse Twist

The Treehouse Hotel sits on the north side of the River Thames, right next to the heart of London’s shopping district. From here, you can easily reach Regent Street and Oxford Street, two of the city’s most famous shopping havens. But the hotel isn’t just about shopping. It’s also a short walk from iconic landmarks like the British Museum, the Sherlock Holmes Museum, and the sprawling green spaces of Regent’s Park and Hyde Park. It’s the perfect place for a second, or even a third, visit to London, allowing you to explore beyond the usual tourist traps.

While it’s easy to reach these attractions on foot, keep in mind that it’s about a 30-minute walk to the main tourist area, which includes Buckingham Palace, and over an hour to the Tower of London. If you’re on your first trip to London and you’re looking to see the most famous sites, a hotel located closer to those landmarks might be a better fit. But if you’re looking for a unique and sustainable escape, the Treehouse Hotel is an excellent choice.

A Treehouse Suite With a View

My experience at the Treehouse Hotel was nothing short of incredible. I splurged on a Treehouse Suite, which offered stunning views of the London skyline. The highlight was definitely the massive soaking bathtub, positioned right next to a huge window. It was the perfect place to relax and unwind after a day exploring the city.

But the room’s charm extended beyond the bath. Each room is designed with sustainability in mind. You won’t find any plastic in sight, only reusable glass water bottles and water fountains on each floor. The hotel also embraces a Central American treehouse theme, incorporating local products and materials wherever possible.

Dining with a Twist

The Treehouse Hotel offers four unique places to enjoy food and drinks. The hotel entrance welcomes you with Backyard, a cozy coffee shop and breakfast spot. You’ll find a selection of teas, coffees, fresh fruits, pastries, yogurt, and other delightful treats. A charming touch is the hotel’s encouragement for guests to swap their pre-loved books with a selection displayed in Backyard. As a delightful surprise, you’ll also find a pre-loved book in your room upon arrival.

For a more substantial meal, head to Madera, the hotel’s main restaurant, which serves delicious Mexican cuisine. If you’re craving a Sunday brunch, Madera’s menu is sure to delight. You’ll also find Pizzeria Mozza, perfect for a quick and satisfying pizza. And for a rooftop experience with stunning city views, visit The Nest, the hotel’s stylish bar serving high-end cocktails and drinks.

A Unique Fitness Experience

The Treehouse Hotel goes beyond traditional hospitality by offering a unique fitness experience. They’ve partnered with FRAME, a renowned fitness company, to provide personal training sessions in your room, on the rooftop terrace, or even in Regent’s Park. It’s a fantastic option for those who want to stay active while exploring the city.

A Sustainable Stay in the Heart of London

The Treehouse Hotel is a unique and eco-conscious haven in the heart of London. I loved the hotel’s commitment to sustainability and its overall charm. It was the perfect pick-me-up treat I needed to end the year on a positive note. If you’re looking for a unique and memorable experience in London, the Treehouse Hotel is definitely worth considering.

Happy travelling!
