A disastrous stay at another hotel forced us to find a new home away from home. Luckily, just ten minutes away, The Leonard Hotel was a lifesaver. We booked our room over the phone, with no need for a credit card. It was so easy!
Arriving at the hotel, we were greeted with a traditional, old-world ambiance. The staff was busy getting our room ready, so we were treated to a glass of champagne in the lounge while we waited. It was like stepping back in time, and we loved it!
Within ten minutes, our room was ready. The staff was incredibly helpful, always willing to go the extra mile to make us feel comfortable. The food was delicious, and our room was cozy and inviting. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience. We were smitten with this charming hotel!
More Than Just a Stay
Our stay at The Leonard was even better than we could have imagined. Upon arrival, we were surprised with a suite upgrade, which definitely put a smile on our faces. The hotel’s location is unbeatable, a mere stone’s throw from Marble Arch. It has an elegant charm, and the rooms are spacious, considering they’re in London.
We enjoyed the old-fashioned elegance of the rooms, and the staff was always ready to assist with a smile. We ordered room service for breakfast, expecting enough for one, but it was more than enough for two! Although it wasn’t as good as our experience three years ago, it was still a delightful treat.

The hotel’s location is excellent, just a minute away from Oxford Street, yet surprisingly peaceful and quiet. The hotel may seem a bit worn down, but that’s part of its charm.
Our room, which I believe was number 17, was the most unique room I’ve ever stayed in. It had a private staircase leading directly into the room, a separate toilet with hanging chains instead of a door, and a couple of steps up to the room with a shower inside. Although it was a bit worn, it was impeccably clean and fresh. It was truly an unforgettable experience. This hotel is a must-stay for independent travelers who enjoy something a bit different.
A London Tradition
We’ve been staying at The Leonard for the past two years with our family, and it’s become a tradition. The location is fantastic, right in the heart of central London. Oxford Street is just a short walk away, and you’re surrounded by restaurants, bars, and supermarkets. We love the convenience of late-night eateries and the Tesco on Edgware Road.
The breakfast is delicious, freshly prepared, and will fuel you up for a day of exploring the city. While the rooms could benefit from a few modern touches, like brighter lighting and updated bathrooms, the staff and amenities are truly exceptional. We appreciate the 24-hour restaurant in the lobby, daily housekeeping, and the friendly, helpful reception staff.
The Leonard is a must-stay for anyone visiting London. It’s a delightful blend of old-world charm and modern convenience, offering a welcoming and memorable experience in the heart of the city.
