Welcome to our honest review of the Hilton London Tower Bridge, a modern and welcoming hotel perfect for families and couples alike. We recently spent two nights at this hotel and were thoroughly impressed. Read on to discover why we loved it.
A Convenient Location, A Welcoming Atmosphere
The Hilton London Tower Bridge boasts a prime location, mere steps from the Tower Bridge station. The Elizabeth line makes navigating London a breeze, taking us from Paddington to London Bridge in under 20 minutes. The hotel itself is a mere 5-minute stroll from the station, making it incredibly convenient for exploring the city.
From the moment we stepped inside, the hotel’s modern and contemporary design impressed us. The lobby exudes an industrial-artsy vibe, perfectly reflecting the trendy atmosphere of this area. Although the hotel caters to business travelers, it still has a warm and family-friendly feel.
The kids were instantly captivated by the adorable candy trolley and the iconic red telephone box, adding a touch of whimsy to the environment.
Stylish Interiors and Welcoming Service
This contemporary design theme extends throughout the hotel, from the stylish bar, Ruba, to the cozy snug area off the main bar. The bar offers a variety of drinks and provides a welcoming space for both locals and hotel guests to relax.
We were warmly greeted at check-in, where our Hilton Gold status was acknowledged. Despite arriving a couple of hours before the official check-in time, our luggage was securely stored, allowing us to begin exploring the city.
We were thrilled to learn that Hilton Gold and Diamond members receive the same benefits, granting us access to the fantastic executive lounge on the 9th floor. This lounge offers stunning views and a tranquil atmosphere, providing a welcome respite from the bustling city.
Spacious Accommodations for Every Traveler
The Hilton London Tower Bridge features 245 rooms, catering to various needs and budgets. From standard rooms to executive rooms and suites, there’s an option for every traveler.
We opted for one of the hotel’s interconnecting deluxe rooms on the 6th floor, ideal for families with teens. The rooms were spacious and thoughtfully designed, with king-sized beds in our room and twin beds adorned with balloons and birthday cake in the girls’ room, making it a perfect setting for a birthday celebration.
The rooms were immaculate, boasting a modern contemporary design with creative wall art, leather headboards, and quirky furnishings. The comfortable chairs added a touch of coziness, while the soundproofing ensured a restful night’s sleep despite the bustling city below.
Each room was equipped with essential amenities such as complimentary tea and coffee, a safe, air conditioning, a smart TV, hairdryers, and bath products by Crabtree and Evelyn. Our deluxe rooms also included robes and slippers, a thoughtful touch. Hilton HHonors members enjoy free Wi-Fi, and Gold guests receive two complimentary bottles of water daily.
The spacious bathrooms were modern and functional, featuring a shower over the bathtub, ample countertop space, and a large illuminated mirror.
A Culinary Delight: Breakfast Options and Beyond
As Hilton Gold members, we enjoyed access to the executive lounge, where we could savor a complimentary breakfast, or we could choose to dine at the hotel’s main restaurant, 1751 Distillery Bar and Kitchen. The restaurant features a vibrant neon sign and Instagrammable surroundings, making breakfast a visually appealing experience.
Both options offered a delectable buffet selection, with a range of full English and continental choices. A chef was always available in the open kitchens to prepare custom omelets and other egg dishes. From yogurt and granola stations to all the essentials for a full English breakfast, the options were plentiful.
While we didn’t dine at the hotel for dinner, the menu looked impressive, and we opted to explore nearby culinary gems such as the Ivy Tower Bridge, with its spectacular views of the bridge.
An Oasis of Calm: The Executive Lounge and Outdoor Terrace
One of our favorite aspects of the Hilton London Tower Bridge was its exceptional executive lounge on the 9th floor. This tranquil oasis provides complimentary refreshments throughout the day, serving as a perfect spot to relax and recharge after a day of exploring.
The highlight of the lounge is its stunning outdoor terrace, filled with rattan furniture. We reveled in enjoying a warm beverage on the terrace each morning, soaking in the incredible views of the Shard and the city skyline.
The girls, along with my husband, also enjoyed the lounge immensely, finding it a welcoming and family-friendly space to unwind after a day of sightseeing. The lounge serves pastries, cereals, fresh juices, and a selection of hot breakfast items in the morning. While the breakfast selection is smaller than the main restaurant, we preferred the relaxed atmosphere of the lounge. Mid-afternoon brings afternoon tea, and between 6 pm and 8 pm, hot canapes and alcoholic beverages are served.
A Perfect Base for Exploring London
The Hilton Tower Bridge’s strategic location near Tower Bridge station makes exploring London a breeze. The Northern and Jubilee lines provide easy access to various attractions throughout the city.
We enjoyed leisurely walks along the river, stopping at the Globe Theatre, Borough Market, Hayes Galleria, HMS Belfast, and, of course, the iconic Tower Bridge.
Check-out was as smooth and friendly as check-in, and the hotel graciously held our luggage for the remainder of the day, allowing us to continue exploring London until it was time to return home.
