A London Gem: The Leonard Hotel

Imagine this: you’ve just had a terrible hotel experience and you’re desperate for a better option. That’s exactly what happened to me, and I found my salvation at The Leonard Hotel.

A Haven in the City

I booked my room while sitting in a taxi, just 10 minutes away from my previous nightmare. All they needed was my name; no credit card required over the phone. The Leonard is a traditional hotel with a personal touch, a refreshing change from the impersonal corporate chains. While they were still preparing our room, we were welcomed into their cozy lounge with a glass of champagne. Ten minutes later, our room was ready. The staff was incredibly helpful, always going the extra mile to ensure our comfort. The food was delicious, and our room felt like a home away from home. I couldn’t have asked for more, especially considering the exceptional service and incredibly affordable prices. If I ever find myself back in London, The Leonard will be my first choice.

A Suite Surprise

We were pleasantly surprised upon arrival with an upgrade to a suite! The positive energy immediately lifted our spirits. The Leonard is a hidden gem, just a short walk from Marble Arch, exuding elegance and charm. The rooms, while keeping the old-world style, are spacious, a rarity in London. The staff is incredibly helpful and always willing to go the extra mile. We ordered breakfast in our room, thinking it would be enough for one, but it was more than ample for two. While not as good as our last visit three years ago, it was still a delightful way to start the day.

A Comfortable and Convenient Stay

My stay at The Leonard was truly exceptional. The location is unbeatable, and the suite was massive and incredibly comfortable. The staff was incredibly helpful, catering to every need. The bathroom was the best I’ve experienced in London, adding a touch of luxury to my stay.

A Family-Friendly Oasis

The Leonard is a perfect choice for families visiting London. From its convenient location to its outstanding service, every aspect of the hotel makes it a great choice for families. My family, with two parents and three kids, ages 14, 10, and 5, stayed at The Leonard in 2012 and again in 2015. We had a wonderful time both times and would recommend The Leonard to anyone looking for a fantastic family vacation in London.

A Quirky and Charming Escape

I wasn’t much of a hotel dweller during my stay, spending most of my time exploring the city. However, The Leonard’s location was perfect, just a minute from Oxford Street yet tucked away in a peaceful haven. While some might say the hotel is a bit worn down, I found it charming. My room, number 17, was the most unique I’ve ever encountered. Imagine this: private stairs leading directly to your room, a separate WC with hanging chains instead of a door, and a shower within the actual room. Though it was a little dated, it was spotless and refreshing. I absolutely loved it! If you’re a fit single traveler, The Leonard is a fantastic option.

A London Classic

For the past two years, my family has been returning to The Leonard Hotel. It’s hard to beat the location – bang in the middle of London, just a short walk from Oxford Street. The area is overflowing with restaurants, bars, and even late-night eateries, with a Tesco on Edgware Road for all your grocery needs. The breakfast is hearty and freshly prepared, keeping you energized throughout the day. While the rooms could benefit from a modern makeover, with brighter lighting and updated bathroom fixtures, the staff and amenities are more than impressive. The lobby restaurant is open 24 hours, housekeeping is done daily, and the reception staff is incredibly friendly and helpful. I wholeheartedly recommend The Leonard Hotel to anyone visiting London.
