A London Gem: The Leonard Hotel

Tired of cookie-cutter hotels? The Leonard Hotel is a breath of fresh air in the bustling heart of London. It’s a charming, traditional hotel that offers a personal touch, a welcome escape from the impersonal nature of many modern hotels.

A Stress-Free Arrival

My recent stay at The Leonard was a delightful surprise. After a less-than-pleasant experience at another hotel, I found myself desperately searching for an alternative. Thankfully, I stumbled upon The Leonard and booked a room while riding in a taxi. The booking process was incredibly efficient, requiring only my name, no credit card details needed over the phone! I arrived at the hotel feeling relieved and already enjoying the relaxed, welcoming atmosphere. Despite booking at the last minute, they were still working on our room. However, they swiftly offered us a glass of champagne and a comfortable spot in the lounge while we waited. Within minutes, our room was ready, exceeding expectations. The staff were incredibly helpful, and nothing seemed to be too much trouble. The food was fantastic, and our room felt like a home away from home. There’s really no better word than perfect to describe this hotel – the service, the price, everything. I’ll definitely return whenever I need to travel to London.

A Suite Escape

Upon arrival, we were pleasantly surprised with an upgrade to a suite! It instantly elevated our mood, setting the stage for a wonderful stay. The hotel’s location near Marble Arch is ideal, offering an elegant escape just a stone’s throw from the city’s vibrant attractions. The rooms, though decorated with old-world charm, are spacious for London standards. The staff were always ready to lend a helping hand, making us feel truly welcome. While we enjoyed ordering breakfast in our room, we did find it to be a bit less satisfying than our previous visit three years ago.

Exceptional Comfort and Service

I absolutely adored my stay at The Leonard. The location is unbeatable, and the suite I was given was unbelievably large and comfortable. The staff was exceptionally helpful, catering to all my needs. The bathroom was a highlight – the best I’ve encountered in London! The Leonard truly feels like a home away from home.

Family-Friendly and a London Favorite

The Leonard Hotel is a perfect choice for a family trip to London. The ideal location, combined with exceptional service, makes it a fantastic option for families of all sizes. My family and I loved our stay there during our December 2012 trip, and we returned again in February 2015. The hotel consistently delivers an outstanding experience, making it our top pick for London accommodation.

A Quirky Charm

My time at The Leonard was a unique experience. While I was mostly out and about exploring London, I found my room to be a delightful haven. It’s located just a minute from Oxford Street, offering a perfect balance of convenience and tranquility. The hotel’s charming, slightly worn-down character is part of its unique appeal. My room, number 17, was particularly quirky. It featured private stairs leading directly to the room, a separate WC with hanging chains, and a shower in the room itself. While it might not be for everyone, I personally loved the unusual design and found it to be clean and fresh. The Leonard is highly recommended for independent travelers who appreciate a unique and cozy atmosphere.

A London Staple

The Leonard Hotel is a true London gem. My family and I have been staying here for the past two years and have always been satisfied. The location is unbeatable, placing you right in the heart of London with easy access to Oxford Street, restaurants, bars, supermarkets, and late-night eateries. A Tesco supermarket is also conveniently located on Edgware Road. The breakfast is fresh and nutritious, setting you up for a day of exploring. While the rooms could benefit from some modern touches, such as brighter lighting and updated bathrooms, the overall experience is fantastic. The staff is incredibly friendly and helpful, and the hotel amenities are exceptional. The lobby restaurant is open 24 hours, housekeeping is done daily, and the reception staff is always happy to assist. I would highly recommend The Leonard to anyone visiting London.
