A London Gem: The Leonard Hotel

The Leonard Hotel is a true hidden gem nestled in the heart of London. I discovered this charming hotel after a disappointing experience at another hotel. I booked a room while in a taxi, only 10 minutes away, with just my name and no need for a credit card payment over the phone.

A Traditional Welcome and Excellent Service

The moment I stepped into the Leonard, I was greeted by its traditional charm. It felt like a classic hotel, with a warm and welcoming atmosphere. Due to my last-minute booking, they were still getting my room ready, so I relaxed in the lounge with a glass of champagne. Within 10 minutes, my room was ready. The staff were incredibly helpful and eager to ensure a comfortable stay.

Homely Comfort and Delicious Food

My room was cozy and felt like home, and the food was delicious. The Leonard exceeded my expectations in every way, especially with its exceptional service and affordable prices. I was so impressed that I vowed to return if I ever found myself traveling to London again.

A Suite Surprise and Elegant Ambiance

Upon arrival, I was pleasantly surprised to be upgraded to a suite. The hotel’s elegant ambiance and its prime location near Marble Arch truly enchanted me. The rooms are spacious for London, with a touch of classic elegance, and the staff is incredibly helpful. While the in-room breakfast wasn’t as good as my previous stay three years ago, it was still generous enough for two.

A Spacious Suite and Impeccable Service

I was blown away by the size and comfort of my suite at The Leonard. It was truly incredible. The staff went above and beyond to meet my every need, and the bathtub was the best I’ve ever encountered in London.

Ideal for Families and Repeat Guests

The Leonard is an ideal place for a family vacation in London. The hotel’s convenient location, combined with its excellent amenities, makes it a perfect choice. My family and I had a wonderful stay in December 2012 and were thrilled to return in February 2015. We will definitely choose The Leonard again for our next London adventure.

Quirky Charm and Convenient Location

The Leonard may not be a modern hotel, but its quirks add to its unique charm. I found my room (number 17, if I recall correctly) to be the most quirky room I’ve ever seen. The private stairs leading directly to the room, the separate toilet with hanging chains instead of a door, and the shower in the actual room made for a truly unique experience. While the room showed signs of age, it was clean and fresh. I highly recommend this hotel to fit, single travelers looking for a unique and convenient London experience.

Central Location and Welcoming Amenities

The Leonard is a true gem in the heart of London. I’ve been a regular visitor for the past two years with my family. The hotel’s central location is unbeatable, with Oxford Street just a minute’s walk away. It’s a haven for travelers seeking easy access to restaurants, bars, supermarkets, and even late-night eateries. There’s even a Tesco on Edgware Road.

Wholesome Breakfast and Friendly Service

The wholesome and freshly prepared breakfast is a treat that keeps you energized throughout the day. While the rooms could benefit from some modern touches, brighter lighting, and updated bathroom fixtures, the staff and amenities more than compensate. The restaurant in the lobby operates 24 hours, housekeeping is done daily, and the reception staff is incredibly friendly and helpful.

A London Must-Stay

I highly recommend The Leonard to anyone traveling to London. It offers a charming blend of classic elegance, exceptional service, and a convenient location that makes exploring the city a breeze.
