Finding a gem in the heart of London
It all started with a disastrous experience at another hotel. Feeling utterly frustrated, I booked a room at The Leonard while riding in a taxi, just 10 minutes away from the previous disappointment. The booking process was a breeze – they only needed my name, no credit card details required over the phone. This was a welcome change from the impersonal, corporate hotel experiences I had encountered before.
Upon arriving, I was greeted by the charm of a traditional hotel, one that embraced a genuine, personal approach. As I walked in, the friendly staff informed me that they were still preparing my room due to the short notice. While I waited, they offered me a glass of bubbly in the lounge – a delightful touch! Within minutes, my room was ready.
Throughout my stay, I was impressed by the exceptional service and unwavering helpfulness of the staff. They went above and beyond to ensure my comfort, making me feel truly valued. The food was delicious, and the room itself was cozy and inviting. The price was incredibly reasonable for such a wonderful hotel, in a city like London. Everything about The Leonard exceeded my expectations, and I wouldn’t hesitate to return for another stay. This is a true London gem!
A Suite Experience and More
Embracing elegance and convenience
We were pleasantly surprised upon arrival when we were upgraded to a suite! It was a fantastic way to start our stay, putting us in an excellent mood. The location is simply perfect – an elegant gem, just a short walk from Marble Arch. The hotel radiates a charming atmosphere with rooms that boast old-world elegance and a surprisingly spacious size for London. The staff is incredibly helpful and always ready to assist with any need.
We ordered room service for breakfast one morning and were amazed to find that it was enough for two people. While it wasn’t as good as the breakfast we enjoyed during our previous stay three years ago, it was still a pleasant experience.
A Luxurious Escape
Exceptional service and luxurious accommodations
My stay at The Leonard was truly exceptional. The location is fantastic, and I was lucky enough to be given a suite that was incredibly spacious and comfortable. I was truly impressed by the size and comfort of the room. The staff was incredibly helpful, catering to any need I might have had. But the highlight of my stay was the amazing bathtub – the best I’ve ever encountered in London!
A Family-Friendly Haven
A warm welcome for families
The Leonard Hotel is the perfect choice for families visiting London. From the ideal location to the outstanding service and amenities, every detail is designed to make your stay comfortable and memorable. The hotel is conveniently situated, making it easy to explore the city’s attractions.
Our family (two parents and three children – 14, 10, and 5 years old) had a wonderful time during our stays in December 2012 and February 2015. The hotel’s charm and welcoming atmosphere made us feel right at home. We would definitely choose The Leonard for our next family trip to London!
A Quirky Delight
A unique and charming London experience
While I didn’t spend much time in the hotel itself, I was truly enchanted by my room. The location is unbeatable – just a minute’s walk from Oxford Street, yet quiet and peaceful. While the hotel might appear a bit worn down, I found that to be part of its charm. My room (17, if I recall correctly) was the most unique room I’ve ever encountered, and I loved it!
The stairs led directly into the room, a private staircase with one and a half flights leading to the door. Upon entering, there was a separate toilet with hanging chains instead of a door, and a couple more steps led to the room itself, which featured a shower within the room. Despite its age, the room was spotlessly clean and fresh. The Leonard is perfect for those who value uniqueness and a touch of quirkiness in their travels!
A London Favourite
A comfortable stay with convenience at your fingertips
We’ve been staying at The Leonard with our family for the past two years, and we can’t imagine staying anywhere else! The location is simply unbeatable – right in the heart of central London, with Oxford Street just a short walk away. You’re surrounded by restaurants, bars, supermarkets, and even late-night eateries. There’s a Tesco supermarket on Edgware Road, making it easy to stock up on groceries.
The breakfast is wholesome and freshly prepared, giving you the energy you need to explore the city. While the rooms could benefit from a few modern touches, such as brighter lighting and updated bathrooms, the staff and amenities are excellent. The restaurant in the lobby operates 24 hours, housekeeping is done daily, and the reception staff is friendly and helpful.
We highly recommend The Leonard to anyone visiting London!
