Get Ready to Fly with Delta: Important Information About Fares and Services

This is your guide to understanding the ins and outs of flying with Delta. We’ll cover fares, miles, baggage fees, award travel, and changes. Let’s take off!

Fares and Miles: Your Journey Begins

The advertised fares you see on delta.com reflect real-time prices. However, remember that these fares can change at any time before you book your ticket.

It’s exciting to earn miles as a SkyMiles member! You can accumulate miles on most Delta flights, but keep in mind that tickets purchased with Basic Economy are not eligible for miles or Medallion Status. Curious about specific miles, offers, and travel benefits? Our Membership Guide & Program Rules will have the answers.

Basic Economy: Know the Details

Before you book Basic Economy, consider the restrictions. These fares are non-refundable and non-changeable. You’ll also have to wait until check-in for a seat assignment, and upgrades are not available. To review all the Basic Economy details, check out our dedicated page.

Seat Choices and Amenities

Your flying experience might vary depending on the type of aircraft. Take a moment to browse our information about seat products and onboard experience.

Your Miles at Work: Award Travel

Award Travel is a great way to use your hard-earned SkyMiles. Just keep in mind that taxes, fees, and carrier-imposed charges are your responsibility and need to be paid when you book.

Award Seats are limited, so availability varies depending on flights and destinations. Members flying in Main Cabin or above can change or cancel their Award tickets without paying a fee for travel originating from the United States and Canada. For complete details, explore our Travel With Miles page.

Making Changes and Getting Refunds

While tickets are generally non-refundable, there are exceptions based on Delta’s cancellation policy. For tickets purchased outside of the United States and Canada, there are specific fees for changes and cancellations. Check out our Change or Cancel Overview page for all the details.
