Your Gateway to Knowledge: Exploring South Kensington Campus

South Kensington is the beating heart of Imperial College London, where the majority of our undergraduate and postgraduate students embark on their academic journeys. Nestled in the vibrant “Albertopolis” district, our campus is a captivating blend of architectural styles. From the majestic Edwardian Royal School of Mines building to the sleek Norman Foster-designed Business School, every corner whispers a story of innovation and history. But it’s not just about buildings – the campus is awash with lush green spaces, including a beautiful landscaped square, where you can find our iconic Queen’s Tower standing tall.

Facilities: A World of Opportunities

Our campus is a student-centric hub, brimming with resources to enhance your learning and well-being. Step into the Abdus Salam Library – a treasure trove of knowledge – or unwind at our sports facilities. Need a helping hand with student services? The Student Hub is your one-stop shop. And when it comes to nourishing your body and mind, we’ve got you covered. From catering outlets to a health and dental surgery, we’ve thought of everything. We also offer support for students with disabilities through our Disability Advisory Service and cater to the youngest learners with our Early Years program.

Accessibility: Your Journey Made Easy

We firmly believe that everyone should have the opportunity to learn and thrive. That’s why accessibility is a top priority at South Kensington. You can find detailed information about accessibility features on our campus through the AccessAble accessibility guides, available online.

Finding Your Way: A Smooth Transition

Reaching South Kensington Campus is a breeze, with excellent transport links right at your doorstep. The nearest Underground station is South Kensington, conveniently located on the District, Circle and Piccadilly lines.

For a detailed journey planner, simply use the Transport for London website.

Are you arriving from Heathrow, Gatwick, or Stansted airports? We’ve got you covered. From Heathrow Express to Gatwick Express, various train options connect you to our campus within a comfortable timeframe.

If you’re arriving from other UK locations by train, reach Victoria station and hop onto the District or Circle Line heading westbound.

Finally, if you’re arriving from a European port, take a British Rail train to London and then travel by Underground to South Kensington Station.

Once you reach the station, the campus is just a ten-minute walk away. Follow the subway signs leading to the museums or walk north up Exhibition Road. You’ll find the College right next to the Science Museum.

Getting Around: Beyond the Underground

Buses offer an alternative mode of transportation, with numerous routes passing within walking distance of our campus.

Parking: Be Informed

Car parking is limited at South Kensington Campus, so it’s best to leave your vehicle at home unless you have prior permission. The car park is open to the public during specific hours and overnight parking is not allowed. Remember, street parking is available for limited periods only.

For satellite navigation, use the postcode SW7 2BX. Exhibition Road is your gateway to the car park.

South Kensington Campus is more than just a place to learn; it’s a vibrant community where you’ll build lifelong friendships, explore your passions, and shape your future. We welcome you to experience the magic of South Kensington!
