A Convenient Airport Stay: Reviewing the Renaissance London Heathrow

Ready to embark on a European adventure? A smooth start to your trip is crucial, and the Renaissance London Heathrow might be the perfect pit stop for you. It’s located just a short drive from Heathrow Terminal 3 and offers a comfortable stay for those needing to be close to the airport.

Getting There:

Finding your way to the Renaissance is a breeze. There are convenient options for arriving at the hotel. You can hop on the Hotel Hoppa shuttle bus for £6 each way or grab a taxi from the rank outside Terminal 3 for around £11.

Checking In & Finding Your Room:

The Renaissance is a busy place, but with Marriott Status, check-in was swift. While there was a queue, it was significantly shorter compared to the standard line. It’s amazing how a little bit of Marriott status can make a big difference! However, finding my room was a bit of a maze! Navigating those long, rectangular corridors was tricky, and I definitely wouldn’t recommend it for travelers just arriving after a long flight.

The Room:

My room was an upgrade thanks to my Marriott status, complete with executive lounge access and runway views. While the views were dark for most of my stay, they would be spectacular for plane enthusiasts. Remember to request a runway view room if you’re a plane spotter! The downside? The noise. If you’re sensitive to sound, you might consider requesting a room on the opposite side of the hotel.

The room itself was perfectly sized for a one-night stay. It had everything you’d expect from an airport hotel: a comfortable bed, a good selection of pillows, a spacious wardrobe with a safe and an ironing board, and tea and coffee-making facilities. I especially appreciated the takeaway coffee cups!

The Bathroom:

The bathroom was also well-equipped. The shower pressure was excellent, and I was very impressed with the toiletries.

Dining Options:

The Renaissance has two dining options: The Market Garden, which focuses on seasonal European cuisine, and Bar Eleven, which serves traditional English fare along with a delightful array of cocktails, beers, and wines. I enjoyed the fish and chips at Bar Eleven and highly recommend it.

For a quick caffeine fix, Cafe Cha is a great choice.

The Executive Lounge:

The Executive Lounge is a fantastic perk for guests with upgraded rooms or Marriott status. Snacks and non-alcoholic drinks are available throughout the day, with canopies and wine offered in the late afternoon and evening. The lounge is a welcoming space to unwind and relax before your flight.

Getting Back to the Airport:

The early morning Hoppa shuttle was an efficient way to return to the airport. While it took a bit longer for Terminal 3, the shuttle also services Terminals 2 and 5.

Overall Impression:

The Renaissance London Heathrow is a convenient option for those needing a hotel near Heathrow Airport. While the check-in line can be long and the rooms are not soundproof, the hotel offers a comfortable stay with everything you need for a one-night stay. The executive lounge adds a touch of luxury and is definitely worth considering.
