A Budget-Friendly Stay with a Few Hiccups

This hotel caters to travelers who prioritize a clean bed for a good night’s sleep over luxurious amenities. While the basic necessities were met, our experience was unfortunately marred by a few shortcomings.

Finding Value in Simplicity:

We opted for this hotel due to its affordability and limited availability in the downtown area. The studio room we were assigned was basic, featuring a small refrigerator, microwave, and coffee maker. However, the room felt cramped, with limited space around the bed and an old, firm mattress. The bathroom’s narrow tub posed a safety risk, particularly during showering.

While the staff was friendly and the hotel was overall clean, the overall experience wouldn’t warrant a stay longer than one or two nights. This might be an acceptable option for travelers with limited budget, but other choices should be explored if available.

A Room with a View (and a Few Odors):

The hotel boasts underground parking, a welcome perk during the winter months. Our initial room, though clean, was plagued by an unsettling smell, later traced to a soiled diaper left in the bathroom’s garbage. This oversight was a cause for concern regarding the hotel’s overall hygiene standards.

While the staff was prompt and apologetic, the smell lingered even after the offending item was removed. Additionally, the bathroom’s awkward layout made it a frustrating experience.

We were upgraded to a suite, which offered more space but was unfortunately perfumed with a strong patchouli scent – a strange choice for a hotel that promotes itself as scent-free. The continental breakfast was underwhelming, with limited options and a cramped dining area. Given the availability of other extended-stay hotels in the area, it’s unlikely we’d choose this hotel again.

A Minimalist Approach with Mixed Results:

The hotel’s minimalist design, while offering a clean aesthetic, felt a bit sterile and lacked the cozy ambiance that many travelers seek. The room’s limited furnishings included a comfortable bed, a small coffee machine, and a fridge, but it lacked extra touches like throw pillows, artwork, or even a proper TV guide. The lack of a “Do Not Disturb” sign was an oversight that could have been easily avoided.

The cleaning staff’s early arrival at 9:30 AM, despite our late check-out, was unexpected and disruptive. While the hotel pictures feature cozy extras like plants and pillows, our room lacked these touches, making it feel more like a basic accommodation than a welcoming escape.

A Lack of Peace and Quiet:

Our stay was further soured by persistent noise issues. On multiple nights, loud guests, including a boisterous group and a family with a rambunctious child, kept us awake well into the early morning hours. The lack of noise control resulted in a disrupted sleep schedule and a frustrating experience. While some noise is expected in a hotel environment, the level of disturbance we experienced was unacceptable, even for budget-conscious travelers.

The hotel’s location was convenient for exploring nearby bars and restaurants, but the persistent noise issues overshadowed the positive aspects of the hotel.
