A Delightful Stay with a Hint of London Charm

The Leonardo Royal Hotel London City offered me a delightful stay, complete with stunning views, spacious suites, and a touch of London charm. I spent four days exploring the city, and the hotel became my temporary home away from home. Let’s delve into the details!

A Warm Welcome and Breathtaking Views

Upon arrival, the spacious and elegantly designed lobby immediately made me feel at ease. The check-in process was smooth, and the friendly staff provided all the necessary information. My suite, located on the 12th floor, offered breathtaking views of iconic landmarks: the Tower of London, Tower Bridge, and the Shard.

Luxurious Suite with Modern Touches

The suite itself was a luxurious haven. It featured a comfortable living room with floor-to-ceiling windows, two plush sofas, and a modern coffee table. The bedroom boasted a king-sized bed, two spacious wardrobes, and numerous power outlets with USB charging ports – a thoughtful touch for today’s travelers.

Amenities for Every Need

The suite was fully equipped with all the amenities I could desire: a flat-screen TV, a writing desk, an iron and ironing board, complimentary toiletries, a choice of bath or shower, a hairdryer, a bathrobe, slippers, and even a 10% discount on lunch and dinner. The hotel also provided a free newspaper, unlimited Wi-Fi, complimentary mineral water, a coffee and tea maker, and a telephone.

A Touch of Personalization

A handwritten welcome note and a sweet treat awaited me – a personal touch that truly made me feel welcomed. It was as if the hotel knew I had a sweet tooth!

A Mixed Experience in the Bathroom

While the spacious bathroom, adorned with white marble tiles and chic black borders, initially impressed me with its timeless design and floor heating, I noticed some wear and tear upon closer inspection. Cracked tiles and damaged enamel in the shower area detracted from the luxurious feel. This was the only aspect that fell short of the otherwise high standards of the suite.

Breakfast with a Variety of Flavors

The hotel’s restaurant, Leo’s, offered a lavish breakfast buffet, catering to all tastes. From traditional English breakfast items to continental choices like pancakes, omelets, fresh fruits, and an assortment of bread, there was something for everyone. While the selection was impressive, my first experience was slightly marred by a disengaged staff member, though this was later compensated by the attentive service of other colleagues.

A Blend of Attentiveness and Inconsistency

The staff, for the most part, were attentive and helpful. However, there were instances where the level of engagement could have been more consistent, particularly in the lobby area. This discrepancy highlighted the difference between the service expected in a 5-star establishment and a 4-star hotel.

An Evening to Remember at Leo’s

My dining experience at Leo’s on a Thursday evening was a highlight of my stay. The amiable staff member, Kostas, not only found me a great table but also engaged in lively conversations, switching effortlessly between English and German. The fish and chips I ordered were exceptional, and the service was top-notch. Kostas deserves a special mention for making the evening memorable.

A Heartwarming Departure

On the day of my checkout, I received a lovely parting gift – a bottle of red wine. While I couldn’t indulge in it due to my travel constraints, this gesture was a heartwarming end to my stay, leaving a lasting positive impression.

A Memorable Stay with Room for Improvement

The Leonardo Royal Hotel London City offered a memorable stay, thanks to its stunning views, well-appointed suites, and mostly commendable service. While there were areas where improvements could be made, particularly in the upkeep of the bathrooms and consistency in staff engagement, the overall experience was positive. The personal touches, like the handwritten note and the parting gift, added a unique charm to the stay. As I reflect on my stay, I feel a sense of satisfaction and will consider returning to Leonardo Royal Hotel in the future, hoping that they will continue to uphold and improve their standards of hospitality. See you soon, Leonardo 😉
