A Journey Through Three Zones
The Ocean Invaders experience unfolds in three distinct zones, each offering a different perspective on the mesmerizing world of jellyfish: “Discover Jellies,” “Understand Jellies,” and “Wowed By Jellies.” Each zone is meticulously crafted, featuring eye-catching color schemes, mesmerizing lighting, and an ambient electronic soundtrack that mirrors the hypnotic movement of the jellyfish.
Discover Jellies: A World Unveiled
The first zone, “Discover Jellies,” gently introduces visitors to the fascinating world of these creatures. As you step into this area, a glimmering mist fills the air, forming a moving screen that projects ghostly images of jellyfish gliding through the archway. This ethereal display immediately captures your attention and sets the stage for an immersive journey.
Inside, Samsung displays come alive with vibrant videos and audio content, complementing the mesmerizing live jellyfish tanks. The tanks, illuminated with colorful LED lights, provide a captivating glimpse into the jellyfish’s world. A transparent LG display takes center stage, offering educational insights into the jellyfish life cycle alongside the live creatures. All displays and tanks are seamlessly integrated into the walls, ensuring a smooth and unobstructed flow of movement for visitors.
Above you, LED lights cast an ethereal glow, mimicking the mesmerizing tendrils of jellyfish, enhancing the immersive experience. The zone culminates with a giant, moving image of a majestic lion’s mane jellyfish, projected by an Optoma ultra short-throw projector, dominating the facing wall and leaving a lasting impression.
Understand Jellies: Interactive Exploration
The “Understand Jellies” zone ignites visitors’ imaginations with a variety of interactive exhibits. Here, you can control a color-changing jellyfish tank using a touch screen or join a giant video game with up to eight players. The game, featuring Iiyama touch screen displays, allows you to create your own mesmerizing swarm of jellyfish projected onto a huge 7m-wide display using two high-end Optoma projectors.
For a more personal experience, an interactive Hitachi projector lets you explore information using hand gestures. And, for a playful yet startling encounter, you can reach into a simulated jellyfish sting – a plastic tentacle triggers an electric shock sound and a rumbling bass shaker, bringing the experience to life. The dynamic lighting in this zone is controlled by DMX, ensuring a cohesive and captivating atmosphere.
Wowed By Jellies: A Mesmerizing Finale
The “Wowed By Jellies” zone culminates the journey with an exhilarating finale. As you enter this U-shaped space, you are surrounded by captivating images projected onto all surfaces, including the floor and ceiling, immersing you in a giant swarm of jellyfish.
The back wall, adorned with a 7.6m-wide image of hundreds of jellyfish, is a masterpiece of projection technology, achieved using five edge-blended Optoma projectors. Above, the ceiling, comprised of ultra-black transparent perspex panels, is adorned with images projected by Optoma projectors. And to add to the visual spectacle, five ROBE MiniMe spinning head Gobo projectors bring mesmerizing video content to life on the floor.
The cutting-edge technology employed in this final zone, including Alcorn McBride 16-channel Protraxx and a Pharos controller, is carefully orchestrated to create a truly unforgettable and immersive experience.
