Imagine this: You’re in London, surrounded by iconic landmarks and bustling streets, but you crave a haven of comfort and convenience. The Hilton London Tower Bridge might be your perfect escape, especially if you’re traveling with your family. This review will guide you through our experience, highlighting the hotel’s unique features and why it’s a top choice for London explorers.
A Welcoming Arrival and Stylish Surroundings
We were immediately impressed by the Hilton London Tower Bridge’s modern and contemporary lobby, which perfectly reflected the industrial-artsy vibe of the surrounding area. The hotel buzzed with a blend of business travelers and families, creating a lively yet welcoming atmosphere.
The candy trolley was a major hit with our kids, and the iconic red telephone box, which the kids declared “so aesthetic”, added a touch of British charm. The ground floor seamlessly flowed into the hotel bar, Ruba, boasting cosy velvet sofas and armchairs. This inviting space was a popular spot for both locals and guests to relax and savor the wide range of drinks on offer. A cool little snug area, reminiscent of a nightclub, added a touch of unexpected flair, showcasing the hotel’s commitment to unique design features.
Comfort, Convenience, and Exceptional Service
We were greeted with warmth and efficiency, the staff immediately recognizing our Hilton Gold status. Our luggage was promptly stored, allowing us to embark on our London adventure. We were delighted to learn that Hilton Gold and Diamond members receive the same exceptional benefits, including access to the hotel’s fantastic executive lounge on the 9th floor.
Spacious Rooms for Every Traveler
The Hilton London Tower Bridge boasts 245 rooms, catering to a diverse range of travelers. From standard rooms to executive rooms and suites, there’s a perfect option for every need. We opted for an interconnecting deluxe room on the 6th floor, ideal for families traveling with teens.
Both rooms were spacious and impeccably clean, with a contemporary design mirroring the Hilton Bankside. The creative wall art, leather headboards, and quirky furnishings added a touch of personality. We particularly appreciated the comfortable chairs, enhancing the room’s cozy ambiance.
Stunning Views and Soundproofed Serenity
Each morning, we were treated to breathtaking views of the iconic Shard skyscraper through our windows. The soundproofing was equally impressive, blocking out the noise from the busy street below, ensuring a peaceful night’s sleep for everyone.
Modern Amenities for a Comfortable Stay
The rooms were equipped with all the essentials: complimentary tea and coffee, a safe, air conditioning, a smart TV, hairdryers, and bath products courtesy of Crabtree and Evelyn. We loved the robes and slippers provided in our deluxe rooms. As Hilton HHonors members, we enjoyed free wifi and two bottles of water daily.
The spacious wardrobes were a welcome sight, providing ample room for our belongings. While the bathrooms lacked the wow factor of the bedrooms, they were modern and functional, featuring a shower over the bathtub, ample countertop space, and a large, illuminated mirror.
Breakfast Delights: A Culinary Oasis
Breakfast at the Hilton London Tower Bridge was a true highlight. As executive lounge guests, we had the choice of enjoying breakfast in the lounge or at the hotel’s beautiful main restaurant, 1751 Distillery bar and kitchen. The restaurant’s eye-catching neon sign set the scene, encouraging you to linger and savor the Instagrammable surroundings.
The buffet selection offered both full English and continental choices, while a chef was on hand to prepare custom omelettes and egg dishes. From yoghurt and granola stations to a complete full English breakfast, there was something for everyone.
Executive Lounge: A Rooftop Paradise
Our favorite feature of the hotel was the executive lounge, a 9th floor oasis of calm offering all-day complimentary refreshments to guests staying in executive rooms or those with Gold or Diamond status. The stunning outdoor terrace, filled with rattan furniture, provided unparalleled views of the Shard and the city skyline. We loved starting our days with a warm drink on the terrace, taking in the spectacular views. In the warmer months, the terrace would be the perfect spot for evening drinks.
The lounge provided a family-friendly space for unwinding after busy days exploring London. In the morning, guests could enjoy pastries, cereals, fresh juices, and a small selection of hot breakfast items. Although the breakfast selection was not as extensive as in the main restaurant, we found it a delightful and relaxing way to start our days. Afternoon tea was served in the afternoon, while hot canapes and alcoholic drinks were available from 6pm to 8pm.
Exploring London’s Treasures from a Prime Location
The Hilton London Tower Bridge’s location, steps away from Tower Bridge station, provides easy access to the entire city via the Northern and Jubilee lines. We loved walking along the river to the Globe Theatre, stopping at Borough Market en route. In the opposite direction, we explored Hayes Galleria, HMS Belfast, and the iconic Tower Bridge.
A Farewell with a Smile and a Promise to Return
Our checkout was as smooth and friendly as our check-in. The hotel happily stored our luggage, allowing us to continue exploring London until our departure.
We wholeheartedly recommend a stay at the Hilton London Tower Bridge. This hotel exceeded our expectations, providing a comfortable and convenient home base for our London adventure. The interconnecting rooms are perfect for families, and the executive lounge is well worth the upgrade for its exceptional views and all-day refreshments.
If you’re seeking a modern, family-friendly hotel in a prime London location, the Hilton London Tower Bridge is a must-consider choice. With its stylish design, exceptional service, and incredible amenities, it promises a memorable stay for travelers of all ages.
