Let’s face it, finding a hotel that meets your needs can be a real headache. Especially if you’ve just had a bad experience at another place! But sometimes, you stumble upon a gem that makes you forget all about the previous disappointment. That’s exactly what happened to me at The Leonard Hotel. I booked it in a rush while I was in a taxi, just a short distance away from a nightmare hotel. It was so easy: they only needed my name, no credit card details over the phone. And then, the real magic began…
A Warm Welcome and Exceptional Service
Walking into The Leonard was like stepping back in time. This is a traditional hotel, not a soulless corporate establishment. They had a very friendly and unhurried approach to things. Even though I booked last minute, they were already working on getting my room ready. While I waited in the lounge with a glass of bubbly, they sorted everything out. Ten minutes later, my room was ready! The staff couldn’t have been more helpful – they were always smiling and happy to go the extra mile. The food was delicious and my room felt so cozy and welcoming. I couldn’t find a single fault with this place, especially not with the incredible service and the amazing value for money. If I ever need to travel to London again, I’ll be returning to The Leonard without a second thought.
A Suite Experience and a Touch of Elegance
I was absolutely thrilled when they upgraded me to a suite! It definitely put a spring in my step. The Leonard has such a wonderful location and a fantastic atmosphere. It’s a stylish haven, just a stone’s throw from Marble Arch. The rooms are spacious, considering they’re in London, and they have a charming old-fashioned elegance. The staff are incredibly helpful too. I ordered breakfast in my room and, although I only ordered enough for one person, it was easily enough for two! However, I did notice it wasn’t as good as it was when I stayed here three years ago. But it was still a lovely way to start the day.
A Fantastic Stay with a Personal Touch
I absolutely loved my stay at The Leonard. The location is perfect and I was lucky enough to be given a suite that was absolutely huge and incredibly comfortable. The staff were incredibly helpful with anything I needed. And the bath? It was the best I’ve ever had in London. I can’t recommend this place enough!
A Family-Friendly Haven
The Leonard Hotel is the perfect place for families visiting London. It’s a fantastic location, and the hotel itself is just as great! Everything was excellent and it matched perfectly with the amazing location. My family and I (two parents and three kids – 14, 10 and 5 years old) stayed here in December 2012 and again in February 2015 and we loved it both times. We’ll definitely be staying at The Leonard again if we get the chance to visit London again. This is the best hotel for families, hands down!
A Unique Room and a Great Location
To be honest, I didn’t spend much time in the hotel. I was always out exploring London or enjoying my room. The hotel’s location is fantastic: just one minute from Oxford Street, but still quiet and peaceful. Lots of people have mentioned that the hotel is a bit worn down, but I think it adds to the charm. My room (number 17, if I remember correctly) was the most quirky room I’ve ever seen. It was absolutely unique! You had to climb a private staircase, with one and a half flights of steps, to get to the room. Then there was a separate toilet when you entered, with hanging chains instead of a door, and a few more steps to the actual room with a shower in the room itself. It might have been a bit worn, but it was sparkling clean and fresh. I loved it! I highly recommend The Leonard to single travelers who enjoy a bit of adventure and are happy to take a few stairs.
A Family-Friendly Hotel in the Heart of London
I’ve been staying at The Leonard with my family for the last two years. It really is the best location – right in the heart of Central London with Oxford Street just a minute’s walk away! There are tons of restaurants, bars, supermarkets and late-night eateries within easy reach. There’s even a Tesco on Edgware Road. The breakfast is hearty and freshly prepared – perfect to fuel a day of exploring. The rooms could use a few modern touches – brighter lighting and updated bathrooms with modern taps would be great. Apart from that, the staff and amenities are fantastic. The restaurant in the lobby is open 24 hours, the housekeeping is done every day, and the reception staff is very friendly and helpful.
If you’re planning a trip to London, I would definitely recommend The Leonard. You won’t regret it!
