Feeling stressed out after a disastrous hotel experience, we desperately needed a change of scenery. While stuck in a London taxi, just a short ride away from our previous nightmare, we stumbled upon a glimmer of hope: The Leonard Hotel. We booked a room on the spot, a quick phone call, just our names, no need for a credit card. This was a breath of fresh air – a traditional hotel, unburdened by corporate chains and their impersonal ways.
Arriving at the hotel, we were met with warmth and efficiency. While they finalized our room, we were treated to a welcome glass of champagne in the cozy lounge. Ten minutes later, our room was ready! The staff at The Leonard consistently went above and beyond – always cheerful and happy to assist, no matter the request. The food was simply delicious, and our room felt like a home away from home. We couldn’t have asked for more, especially when it came to the exceptional service and incredible value for money. This is a hidden gem that we would wholeheartedly recommend to anyone traveling to London.
More Than Just a Room, It’s an Experience
Upon our arrival, we were pleasantly surprised with a suite upgrade, setting the tone for a delightful stay. The Leonard Hotel exudes an elegant charm, a true gem nestled a stone’s throw from Marble Arch. The rooms, though adorned with classic decor, are surprisingly spacious, especially for London, and the staff remains incredibly helpful. We enjoyed ordering breakfast in our room, though it was plentiful enough for two, a slight change from our previous stay a few years ago.
A Love for London’s Leonard
My time at The Leonard was exceptional! The location is perfect, and the suite I was given was incredibly spacious and comfortable. I was impressed by the staff’s attentiveness and helpfulness. And the bathtub? It was the best I’ve encountered in all of London!
Family-Friendly Haven in the Heart of London
The Leonard Hotel is a wonderful choice for families visiting London. It’s more than just a convenient location – everything exceeded our expectations, perfectly complementing its central setting. My family and I (two parents and three children, ages 14, 10, and 5) have stayed at The Leonard twice, in December 2012 and February 2015, and each time, it has been a delightful experience. We would happily return again – The Leonard is truly the best!
Quirky Charm and Central Convenience
I wouldn’t say I spent much time in the hotel, as I was always out and about exploring London’s vibrant streets. But, I can’t deny the charm of The Leonard! It’s perfectly situated just a minute from Oxford Street, yet surprisingly tranquil. While the hotel shows some signs of age, I found it oddly endearing. My room (number 17, if I remember correctly) was one of the most unique I’ve ever seen – I absolutely loved its quirky character! It had its own private staircase, leading up two flights to the room, with a separate WC and a shower right in the room itself. Yes, it had a bit of wear and tear, but it was impeccably clean and fresh. I would definitely recommend The Leonard to solo travelers looking for a unique, affordable, and centrally located experience.
A London Staple: The Leonard Hotel
For the past two years, The Leonard has been our go-to spot for family vacations in London. It simply can’t be beat when it comes to location – right in the heart of Central London, just a stone’s throw from Oxford Street! It’s so easy to get to restaurants, bars, supermarkets, and even late-night eateries. There’s even a Tesco just across the street on Edgware Road. Their breakfast is always a hit, fresh and wholesome, enough to keep you going all day. While the rooms could use a few modern upgrades – brighter lighting and updated bathroom fixtures – the staff and amenities are truly exceptional. The lobby restaurant is open 24 hours, housekeeping is done daily, and the reception staff is incredibly friendly and helpful.
If you’re planning a trip to London, The Leonard is the perfect choice! It combines affordability with an exceptional location, ensuring a comfortable and memorable stay in this exciting city.
