A London Gem: The Leonard Hotel

This hotel was a welcome surprise after a terrible experience at another hotel. I booked it while in a taxi just ten minutes away. They only needed my name and no credit card details over the phone! This charming hotel has a welcoming, traditional feel, a far cry from the impersonal corporate style of some hotels. I was impressed by their efficiency – they were still getting our room ready when we arrived, but we were greeted with a glass of bubbly in the lounge while we waited. Our room was ready in just ten minutes!

Friendly Service and Comfort

The staff at this hotel are exceptionally friendly and helpful, always eager to assist with any request. The food was fantastic, and our room felt like a cozy home away from home. Everything about this hotel exceeded my expectations, especially the exceptional service and affordability. If I ever need to travel to London again, I will definitely return!

A Suite Experience

Upon arrival, we were pleasantly surprised with an upgrade to a suite, which put us in a fantastic mood! The hotel’s location and overall ambiance are simply delightful – a sophisticated gem just a short walk from Marble Arch. The rooms are spacious by London standards, with a charming old-world elegance. The staff are incredibly helpful, and we enjoyed a delicious in-room breakfast that was surprisingly large enough for two. While the breakfast wasn’t as good as when we stayed three years ago, it was still a wonderful treat.

A Fabulous Stay

My stay at The Leonard was incredible! The location is fantastic, and I was lucky enough to be given a suite that was massive and incredibly comfortable. The staff were exceptionally helpful, and the bathroom was the best I’ve ever experienced in London!

A Family-Friendly Haven

The Leonard Hotel is the perfect place for families visiting London. The ideal location, combined with the hotel’s excellent facilities, make it a top choice for families of all sizes. We visited with our three children (14, 10, and 5 years old) in December 2012 and again in February 2015, and both times we had an amazing experience. We will definitely stay at The Leonard again!

Unique Charm and Perfect Location

I didn’t spend much time in the hotel as I was either in my room or out exploring the city. However, the hotel’s location is perfect, just a minute away from Oxford Street but still quiet and peaceful. Many have mentioned the hotel’s slightly worn-down appearance, but I think it adds to its charm. My room (number 17, if I remember correctly) was the most unique room I’ve ever seen, and I loved it! The stairs lead directly into the room, with private stairs that spanned one and a half flights. The separate toilet was accessed through hanging chains instead of a door, and a couple of steps up led to the room itself, which had a shower. While a bit worn, it was clean and fresh. I highly recommend this hotel to single travelers who are fit and adventurous!

A London Classic with a Modern Twist

I’ve been staying at The Leonard with my family for the past two years, and I can’t recommend it enough! The location is fantastic – right in the heart of Central London, just a short walk from Oxford Street. It’s perfect for exploring the city’s amazing restaurants, bars, and late-night eateries, and there’s even a Tesco on Edgware Road for all your essentials. The wholesome and freshly prepared breakfast keeps you energized for a full day of sightseeing. While the rooms could benefit from a few modern updates, like brighter lighting and updated bathroom fixtures, the staff and amenities are excellent. The lobby restaurant is open 24 hours, housekeeping is done every day, and the reception staff is incredibly friendly and helpful. Overall, I highly recommend The Leonard to anyone visiting London!
