A London Gem: The Leonard Hotel

Escape the ordinary and discover a hidden gem in the heart of London, The Leonard Hotel. This charming hotel, nestled just a stone’s throw from Marble Arch, offers a unique blend of traditional hospitality and modern convenience.

A Respite from the Ordinary

After a dreadful experience at another hotel, I stumbled upon The Leonard while in a taxi. The staff were incredibly accommodating, taking my booking over the phone with just my name – no need for immediate payment! The hotel’s traditional ambiance was a refreshing change from the corporate feel of other establishments. Despite my late reservation, my room was ready within minutes. I was welcomed with a glass of champagne in the cozy lounge while they prepared my room.

This hotel consistently impressed me. The staff was incredibly helpful and went above and beyond to ensure my comfort. The food was delicious, and the rooms were comfortable and homey. From the excellent service to the reasonable prices, The Leonard exceeded my expectations. If I find myself in London again, I wouldn’t hesitate to return to this charming gem.

A Suite Surprise

My stay at The Leonard was even more enjoyable than I anticipated. Upon arrival, I was delighted to discover that I had been upgraded to a suite! This added touch truly elevated my experience, providing an extra sense of luxury and spaciousness.

The hotel’s location is fantastic, placing you within walking distance of the vibrant Marble Arch area. The rooms are well-appointed with a classic elegance and are surprisingly spacious for London. The staff was incredibly helpful, always happy to assist with any request.

While the in-room breakfast was more than enough for two, I must admit it wasn’t as delicious as it was during my previous visit three years ago.

A Traveler’s Delight

I absolutely loved my stay at The Leonard. The location is ideal, and I was fortunate to be upgraded to a suite that was incredibly spacious and comfortable. The staff was exceptionally helpful, addressing any needs I had with a smile. The bathroom was a highlight, offering the best bath I’ve encountered in London!

A Family-Friendly Haven

The Leonard Hotel is a perfect choice for families visiting London. The hotel’s prime location offers easy access to all the city’s attractions. Beyond the excellent location, the hotel itself is exceptional, catering to the needs of families.

Our family, consisting of two parents and three children (ages 14, 10, and 5), has stayed at The Leonard twice, once in December 2012 and again in February 2015. We were impressed by the hotel’s excellent service and amenities both times. We highly recommend The Leonard to any family planning a trip to London!

A Quirky Charm

To be honest, I didn’t spend much time in the hotel itself. I was mostly out exploring London. However, I must say that the hotel’s location is perfect, just a minute’s walk from Oxford Street yet surprisingly quiet and peaceful.

The hotel itself is slightly worn, but in a charming way. My room, number 17 if I recall correctly, was one of the most unique rooms I’ve ever seen. I absolutely loved it! You enter the room by a private set of stairs – one and a half flights – leading directly into the room. The bathroom is separate, with a quirky charm featuring hanging chains instead of a door. You then ascend a couple more steps to the main room, which features a shower within the space. Although the room was a bit worn, it was clean and fresh. I highly recommend this hotel to fit single travelers looking for a quirky and memorable stay.

A London Landmark

The Leonard Hotel has been a favorite among our family for the past two years. Its location is unbeatable, placing you right in the heart of Central London, with Oxford Street just a short walk away. The neighborhood is brimming with restaurants, bars, and supermarkets, making it easy to find anything you need. I especially appreciate the late-night eateries and the convenience of a Tesco supermarket on Edgware Road.

The breakfast is a highlight, always fresh and filling, providing the perfect start to a day of exploration. While the rooms could benefit from a few modern touches, such as brighter lighting and updated bathroom fixtures, the staff and amenities are top-notch. The lobby restaurant is open 24 hours, housekeeping is done daily, and the reception staff is friendly and helpful.

I wholeheartedly recommend The Leonard Hotel to anyone visiting London. This charming hotel provides a unique blend of traditional hospitality and modern convenience, making it an ideal choice for travelers of all types.
