A London Stay with Stunning Views and a Personal Touch

Ready for a London adventure? Let me tell you about my recent stay at the Leonardo Royal Hotel London City – a charming blend of elegance and convenience. From the moment I stepped into the lobby, I knew I was in for a treat.

Arriving in Style

I arrived an hour early, eager to explore the city. The staff welcomed me with open arms, and the spacious, stylish lobby instantly put me at ease. The check-in process was swift, and the friendly staff member provided me with all the information I needed.

A Suite with a View

My home for the next few days was a spacious suite on the 12th floor. Stepping inside, I was greeted by a small but functional kitchenette, leading to a living room that stole my breath away. Floor-to-ceiling windows offered panoramic views of iconic landmarks like the Tower of London, Tower Bridge, and the Shard. The living room was a haven of comfort, complete with plush sofas, a coffee table, a TV, and London-inspired artwork. The pièce de résistance was a stunning chandelier that illuminated the room with a warm glow.

Every Detail Considered

Next door was the bedroom, boasting a king-sized bed and the same breathtaking views. The room was thoughtfully designed with two wardrobes, a minibar, a safe, and plenty of power outlets with USB ports, perfect for the modern traveler.

The suite was overflowing with amenities, catering to every need. From a flat-screen TV to a writing desk, an iron, and an ironing board, the hotel ensured I felt right at home. Complimentary toiletries, a choice of a bathtub or shower, a hairdryer, bathrobe, slippers, and a generous 10% discount on lunch and dinner were just a few of the perks. Other thoughtful touches included a free newspaper, unlimited Wi-Fi, complimentary mineral water, a coffee and tea maker, and a telephone.

A Personal Welcome

The best surprise awaited me on the table – a handwritten welcome note and a sweet treat! This heartfelt gesture added a personal touch to my stay, making me feel truly valued.

A Touch of Luxury with a Few Flaws

The bathroom was a blend of elegance and practicality. The white marble tiles with a chic black border, and the underfloor heating, instantly impressed me. However, upon closer inspection, I noticed some wear and tear. Cracked tiles, poorly filled joints, and damaged enamel in the shower area detracted from the otherwise luxurious feel. This was a small disappointment, considering the high standards of the suite.

Breakfast with a Variety of Choices

Breakfast at Leo’s, the hotel’s restaurant, was a delightful experience. The buffet offered an extensive selection, from traditional English breakfast items to continental favorites like pancakes, omelets, fresh fruits, and an assortment of bread. While the food was delicious, my first breakfast experience was slightly marred by a disengaged staff member. However, the attentive service of other colleagues made up for this minor inconvenience.

Attentive Staff, but Room for Improvement

The staff at the Leonardo Royal were generally helpful and courteous. However, I did notice inconsistencies in their engagement, particularly in the lobby area. This discrepancy, while subtle, highlighted the difference between the service expected in a 5-star hotel and a 4-star hotel.

A Dinner to Remember

One highlight of my stay was my Thursday evening dinner at Leo’s. Kostas, the friendly staff member, found me a great table and engaged me in lively conversation, effortlessly switching between English and German. The fish and chips were superb, and the service was impeccable. Kostas deserves a special mention for making the evening so memorable.

A Sweet Farewell

On my departure, I received a lovely parting gift – a bottle of red wine. While I couldn’t enjoy it due to my travel constraints, this gesture was a heartwarming end to my stay, leaving a lasting positive impression.

A Memorable Stay with Room for Growth

The Leonardo Royal Hotel London City offers stunning views, well-appointed suites, and mostly excellent service. While there is room for improvement in areas like bathroom maintenance and staff consistency, the overall experience was positive. The hotel’s personal touches, like the handwritten note and the parting gift, added a unique charm. These small gestures often make the most significant impact, overshadowing minor flaws.

As I reflect on my stay, I feel a sense of satisfaction and will consider returning to Leonardo Royal Hotel in the future. I hope they will continue to enhance their hospitality standards, making every guest feel welcome and cherished. See you soon, Leonardo!
