A Luxurious Escape in the Heart of London: Sheraton Grand London Park Lane

Imagine stepping into a world of elegance and grandeur, where Art Deco charm meets modern luxury. This is the Sheraton Grand London Park Lane, a hotel that defies expectations and offers a truly memorable experience.

I’ve stayed at many hotels around Park Lane, but this one stands out. While the Sheraton brand sometimes feels a bit less fancy than it used to, the Sheraton Grand Park Lane always appeared luxurious from the outside. When I saw an amazing price, I knew I had to give it a try.

Location, Location, Location

Don’t be fooled by the name – the hotel isn’t actually on Park Lane. It’s just around the corner on Piccadilly, which is a fantastic location. You’re within walking distance of top-notch restaurants and bars, like Coya, a vibrant Peruvian restaurant, and the Amaranto terrace at the Four Seasons, a lovely outdoor spot for drinks or a light meal. Plus, you’re just a short stroll from Hyde Park and Green Park tube stations, making it super easy to get around London.

A Grand Entrance

From the moment I stepped into the hotel, I was pleasantly surprised by its grandeur. It felt nothing like a generic Sheraton, but rather like a luxurious boutique hotel. Built in 1927, the Sheraton Grand London Park Lane boasts Art Deco interiors, right down to the rooms, showcasing the hotel’s 1920s heritage.

Friendly Faces and a Warm Welcome

The staff at the reception desk were fantastic. They were friendly, helpful, and went above and beyond to make sure I had a great stay. They even remembered my name! I was fortunate to receive an upgrade to a suite with a fantastic view, which made my stay even more special.

The hotel was taking Covid seriously, with a one-way system in place throughout the public areas. Even the lifts had hand sanitizer! The lift arrangement was a bit odd, though, as the lifts were far apart, making it hard to see which one had arrived.

A Luxurious Suite with a View

My suite was impressive. Stepping into the large living area, I was greeted by stunning views of Green Park and the London Eye. The view was even more spectacular at night when everything was lit up. The living area featured a comfortable seating area in front of the TV, a desk with plenty of outlets, and a mirror – something many hotels overlook! They even provided a sanitizing wipe at the desk, a thoughtful touch.

The room felt cozy yet luxurious with its neutral color palette accented with muted purple and silver details. The bedroom was a good size, featuring a comfortable Sheraton Signature bed. I was surprised by how quiet the room was, which is a huge plus in a city as bustling as London.

Thoughtful Touches and Modern Amenities

The suite was packed with thoughtful touches, such as a coffee machine, a kettle, and plenty of complimentary bottled water. I appreciated the takeaway cups, perfect for grabbing a coffee and strolling through the park.

The bathroom was a bit unusual, with a completely open walk-in shower area next to the bathtub. While I prefer more traditional layouts, I liked the Art Deco feel that matched the rest of the hotel. The bathroom also included a Japanese toilet, which was a fun and unexpected feature!

A Delicious Breakfast in an Elegant Setting

Breakfast was served in the Palm Court bar area, which was absolutely gorgeous. The Art Deco theme, marble floor, and vaulted ceilings transported me back to the roaring twenties. The tapestries, marble floor, bar, and stunning ceiling details are original features from when the hotel was built in 1927.

The breakfast buffet offered a wide selection of delicious items, and the staff were friendly, although service was a bit slow. I loved the silver teapot and jug, which added to the grandeur of the experience. This was probably the poshest breakfast I’ve had in London!

Cocktails and Canapés in the Bar

In place of the Club lounge, I received coupons for drinks in the Smith & Whistle bar. The staff were fantastic, even topping up our drinks after the time limit. The canapés were tasty but not very generous.

A Hotel with Style, Comfort, and Value

I was very surprised by the luxury and elegance of the Sheraton Grand London Park Lane. It was a far cry from my usual experience with the Sheraton brand. I loved the Art Deco style and was particularly impressed by the hotel’s commitment to making me feel welcome as a Platinum Elite member. This is definitely one of my favorite hotels around Park Lane in terms of value for money and style.

A Special Offer for a Luxurious Escape
