A New Era for Jurys Inn: Rebranding and Expansion

The Jurys Inn brand is getting a fresh look! The Fattal Hotel Group, which operates a whopping 51 hotels in the UK and Ireland, has decided to rebrand its 35 Jurys Inn hotels to the Leonardo name. This change is part of a larger plan for growth and expansion, aimed at solidifying Leonardo as a leading hotel group in the UK and Ireland.

A Bit of History:

Jurys Inn joined the Fattal Hotel Group in 2017 and has been operating under both Jurys Inn and Leonardo brands across the UK and Ireland. Fattal itself boasts a portfolio of over 200 hotels in Europe and Israel, and has been a major player in the hospitality industry since 2006.

Building a Better Future

The rebranding is just the beginning of exciting developments for the group. They’re focusing on expanding their reach with new hotels and renovations. For example, they’re building a stylish 125-bedroom NYX Hotel in Edinburgh’s Old Town, and expanding their rebranded Leonardo Hotel in the same city.

This spring, they’re opening a new Leonardo Hotel in Manchester featuring a unique, “Jenga-inspired” design with wild greenery. This hotel will boast a ground-floor restaurant, café bar, and entertaining terrace, all connected to a new public square.

In the past year, the group has also opened Leonardo Hotels in Bristol and Chester, demonstrating their commitment to expanding across the UK.

More Than Just a New Name

“We believe that the Leonardo brand is the perfect way to achieve our goals for growth,” says Jason Carruthers, managing director of Jurys Inn and Leonardo Hotels UK & Ireland. “This rebranding combines the strengths of Jurys Inn with the established Leonardo brand design and reputation.”

Carruthers also highlighted the importance of strengthening their position in the UK and Ireland. “We are committed to offering unique destinations to our guests, both local and international,” he stated. “The Leonardo brand is getting a contemporary, engaging refresh to reflect this.”

The rebranding isn’t just about a new name; it’s about evolving the brand to meet the needs of today’s travellers.

Investing in the Future

The group isn’t just focusing on new hotels; they’re also making significant investments in renovating existing ones. Over the past four years, they’ve invested almost £100 million in new openings and refurbishments. This includes 926 bedrooms across Jurys Inn hotels in Croydon and Exeter, and Leonardo hotels in London Heathrow, Edinburgh Murrayfield, and Southampton.

Following their acquisition of the Manchester Midland hotel in 2018, they invested £13.9 million in a complete makeover. Their Leonardo Royal Hotels in London City, Tower Bridge, and St Paul’s, as well as the NYX Hotel in London Holborn, received a combined £34.5 million for upgrades, including new public areas and modernizations.

These investments also included the introduction of new bar and restaurant concepts like NYX Eat Drink Play, Leo’s, and the rooftop bar Sabine in London.

Looking Ahead

The Fattal Hotel Group has big plans for the future. They are committed to continued growth through acquisitions, developments, and improvements to their products and services. They are excited to bring the reimagined Leonardo brand to new heights, offering a fresh and exciting experience for guests across the UK and Ireland.
