Imagine stepping into a city where the sun shines bright and the air is warm, a perfect scene for a family adventure! London in early summer is a magical place, with its charming weather and bustling streets. It’s a fantastic time to experience the city before the summer rush arrives.
If you’re looking for a comfortable and exciting base for your family trip, the Hilton London Metropole is a great option. Located in the vibrant Edgware Road, near Paddington, the hotel offers a fantastic mix of convenience and family-friendly amenities.
A Hotel for Every Family Member
The Hilton London Metropole is a massive hotel with over a thousand rooms, multiple dining options, shops, and leisure facilities. This means there’s something for everyone, whether you want to relax, explore, or simply enjoy the hotel’s amenities.
We stayed in one of their spacious family rooms, perfectly designed for a family of five. The room was well-equipped, featuring two queen-size beds in the main bedroom and a sofa that converted into an extra bed. The room was surprisingly affordable, considering its size and location.
The bathroom was another highlight, featuring a decent size and lovely toiletries. While we appreciate the amenities, we would love to see Hilton offer non-disposable toiletries in the future.
Fueling Up for Adventure
The hotel’s main restaurant offers a delicious buffet breakfast with a wide variety of options, including vegetarian sausages, hot items, pancakes, and an egg station. We were impressed with the tasty pastries and the kids’ corner, which came with hot chocolate and doughnuts. While we missed fresh fruit juices, we enjoyed the abundance of fresh fruits and other delicious items.
For dinner, we tried the Fiamma restaurant, which serves delicious Italian food. The kids were thrilled to participate in a pizza-making session with the chef, creating their own pizza masterpieces in the hotel’s very own pizza oven.
We opted for a delicious rigatoni dish for myself and a grilled sea bass with risotto for Mr. G. Both dishes were prepared to perfection and were a delightful end to our day.
Exploring London’s Charms
The Hilton London Metropole’s location is fantastic, offering easy access to all the major attractions. We loved being close to Oxford Street, just a ten-minute walk away, and the hotel’s central location allowed us to explore the city easily.
While parking at the hotel is expensive, we managed to find affordable on-street parking nearby. Just remember to factor in the parking costs when planning your trip.
Unforgettable Memories
The Hilton London Metropole is a haven for families. From the fun pizza-making class to the kids’ corner at breakfast, there’s plenty to keep the little ones happy. But the real highlight for our kids was the indoor pool, which remained open until 9:30 pm. This allowed them to burn off energy and enjoy a relaxing pre-bedtime swim.
Our stay at the Hilton London Metropole was truly memorable. It’s a fantastic choice for families, offering a comfortable and fun experience at a reasonable price. We highly recommend it and look forward to returning for another London adventure soon.
