Welcome to the Treehouse Hotel, a hidden gem nestled amongst the grand architecture of Marylebone, London. This hotel is housed in a rather unassuming building from the 1960s, but don’t let the exterior fool you; the inside is a delightful surprise. With its quirky design and playful atmosphere, the Treehouse Hotel offers a truly unique experience.
Let’s take a peek inside and see what this hotel has to offer!
A Treehouse in the Sky: A Playful Design with a Twist
Step inside the Treehouse Hotel, and you’ll immediately notice the unique theme. The hotel’s interiors are adorned with wooden panels, creating a warm, cozy ambiance reminiscent of a treehouse. This distinctive design adds character and a touch of quirkiness that sets it apart from traditional hotels.
Navigating the hotel is a breeze. The ground floor houses a welcoming coffee shop, and three lifts whisk you to your destination. The left lift takes you straight to the Nest rooftop bar, while the central and right lifts lead to all hotel floors. Check-in is conveniently located on the 15th floor, next to Madera, a vibrant Mexican restaurant where breakfast is served.
The Lookout King: A Room with a View
During our stay, we were lucky to be in the Lookout King room. This spacious 24 square meter room offers stunning views of London. Stepping into the room, you’re greeted by a king-size bed draped with luxurious sheets and a cozy throw, inviting you to unwind. A selection of playful toys adds a touch of whimsy to the room’s decor.
Practicality meets style in the room’s design. Each side of the bed features tables equipped with power outlets, USB ports, reading lights, and a handy wireless Bluetooth speaker – a thoughtful touch.
A Cityscape Panorama: Views from the Lookout King
The Lookout King gets its name from the padded seating strategically positioned next to the windows. From here, you can soak in panoramic views of the city, including Langham Place and Broadcasting House. While the padded seating offers comfort, the lack of back support may make it a little uncomfortable for extended periods. Fortunately, a semi-transparent curtain and blackout blinds allow you to adjust the light and privacy as needed.
A Refreshing Retreat: The Bathroom Experience
Across from the bed, you’ll find a stylish bathroom. The bathroom is divided by a pane of glass, separating the shower area from the rest of the space. The shower boasts both rainfall and handheld options, with convenient taps located on the opposite wall. We were delighted with the strong water pressure and the perfect temperature during our stay.
The glass wall separating the shower and bedroom is a clever design element that creates a sense of spaciousness. However, it can be easily transformed into a private sanctuary with a curtain on the bedroom side.
A Memorable Occasion: Our Wedding Celebration
We chose the Treehouse Hotel for our wedding celebration because of its unique ambiance and prime location. Our ceremony and reception took place across the street at The Langham, and we enjoyed the convenience of having the Treehouse as our post-wedding retreat.
While we weren’t able to explore all the hotel’s offerings during our stay, we were impressed by the high-quality fixtures, friendly staff, and excellent amenities. The Treehouse Hotel’s central location, just minutes from Oxford Circus, is an added bonus.
For those looking for a unique hotel experience in London, the Treehouse Hotel is a fantastic option. With its stylish design, quirky details, and excellent service, it’s a truly memorable place to stay. Be sure to check out my upcoming review of breakfast at Madera, a must-try for hotel guests and non-guests alike. The breakfast, offered for GBP 20 per guest, is a delicious way to start your day.
So, if you’re looking for a stylish and fun stay in the heart of London, book your stay at the Treehouse Hotel and experience the magic for yourself.
