Are you planning a family getaway to London? Look no further than the Hilton London Tower Bridge! This modern, family-friendly hotel boasts spacious rooms and a prime location for exploring the city’s iconic landmarks.
Location, Location, Location!
Getting to the Hilton London Tower Bridge couldn’t be easier. Just a short hop from Paddington Station on the new Elizabeth Line, you’ll be whisked to London Bridge in under 20 minutes. The hotel is a mere five-minute stroll from the station, making it a breeze to reach your cozy haven after a day of exploring.
A Welcoming Oasis in the Heart of London
The Hilton London Tower Bridge makes a fantastic first impression. The lobby is stylish and contemporary, perfectly reflecting the industrial-artsy vibe of this exciting part of the city. While the hotel caters to business travelers, it still maintains a warm, family-friendly atmosphere. Little touches like a candy trolley (a surefire hit with kids!) and an iconic red telephone box add a touch of whimsical charm.
Chic Design Meets Comfort and Convenience
This cool, contemporary design theme extends to the hotel’s Ruba bar. With its plush velvet sofas and armchairs, it’s the perfect spot to unwind and savor a wide selection of drinks, attracting both hotel guests and local residents. There’s even a stylish “snug” area that wouldn’t look out of place in a trendy nightclub, setting this Hilton apart from the typical chain hotel.
A Warm Welcome and Exceptional Service
From the moment you arrive, you’ll be greeted with warmth and hospitality. The hotel recognizes and honors Hilton Gold status, offering special perks like early check-in and secure luggage storage. We were thrilled to discover that Hilton Gold and Diamond members receive the same privileges, including access to the incredible Executive Lounge on the 9th floor – a highlight of our stay!
A Room for Every Traveler
The Hilton London Tower Bridge offers 245 rooms in a variety of categories, catering to every traveler’s needs. Whether you’re seeking a standard room, an executive room, or a luxurious suite, you’re sure to find the perfect accommodation for your stay.
Our Interconnecting Deluxe Room: A Family Dream
We opted for one of the hotel’s interconnecting deluxe rooms on the 6th floor, an ideal choice for families with teenagers like us. Both rooms were remarkably spacious, our room featuring a king-sized bed and the girls’ room boasting two twin beds, decorated with balloons and a birthday cake—a perfect way to kick off a London birthday celebration.
Modern Comfort and Chic Design
The rooms exude a modern, contemporary vibe, similar to the Hilton Bankside just a short walk away on the Southbank. Expect creative wall art, leather headboards, and quirky furnishings that add a touch of personality. We especially appreciated the comfortable chairs, creating a cozy and inviting atmosphere.
Breathtaking Views and Soundproof Bliss
The highlight of our room was undoubtedly the stunning views. Each morning, we woke up to breathtaking vistas of the iconic Shard skyscraper, accompanied by the soothing sounds of the city. We were also impressed by the excellent soundproofing, ensuring a peaceful night’s sleep despite the bustling street below.
Well-Equipped for a Comfortable Stay
The rooms are equipped with everything you need for a comfortable stay: complimentary tea and coffee, a safe, air conditioning, a smart TV, hairdryers, and bath products from Crabtree and Evelyn. Deluxe rooms even include robes and slippers for that extra touch of luxury. Hilton HHonors members enjoy free Wi-Fi, and Gold members receive the added bonus of two complimentary bottles of water daily.
Ample Space for Every Occasion
We were relieved to discover that both rooms had ample wardrobe space, perfect for accommodating our luggage. The bathrooms, while not as visually stunning as the bedrooms, were modern and functional, featuring a shower over the bathtub, plenty of countertop space for toiletries, and a large, illuminated mirror.
Breakfast Delights: A Culinary Adventure
Breakfast at the Hilton London Tower Bridge is a real treat. As Executive Lounge guests, we had the choice of enjoying breakfast in the lounge or at the hotel’s stunning 1751 Distillery bar and kitchen, the main restaurant. The eye-catching neon sign sets the scene, and you might find yourself spending your breakfast admiring the Instagrammable surroundings.
Both options offer a delicious buffet selection, with both full English and continental choices. A chef is on hand in the open kitchens to prepare omelettes and other egg dishes to order, ensuring every palate is satisfied. From yoghurt and granola stations to everything you need for a full English breakfast, the choices are abundant.
Dining Options for Every Taste
While the hotel’s restaurant offers tempting options, we opted for dinner at the Ivy Tower Bridge, a spectacular setting with stunning views of the iconic bridge.
A Rooftop Oasis: The Executive Lounge
Our absolute favorite part of the hotel was the Executive Lounge, a tranquil haven on the 9th floor offering all-day complimentary refreshments (7:30 am to 9 pm) to guests staying in executive rooms or those with Gold or Diamond status. What truly sets this lounge apart is its breathtaking outdoor terrace, furnished with stylish rattan furniture.
We loved starting our day with a warm drink on the terrace, soaking in the incredible views of the Shard and the City of London. In the warmer months, enjoying evening drinks on the terrace must be a truly spectacular experience.
The lounge proved to be a popular spot for the whole family, providing a relaxing retreat after a busy day exploring the city. In the mornings, you’ll find pastries, cereals, fresh juices, and a small selection of hot breakfast items. Although the breakfast offer here is not as extensive as the main restaurant, we preferred the peaceful and relaxed ambiance. Mid-afternoon brings afternoon tea, and between 6 pm and 8 pm, hot canapés and alcoholic drinks are served.
Exploring the City with Ease
The Hilton London Tower Bridge enjoys an unbeatable location, just steps away from Tower Bridge station. This provides access to the Northern and Jubilee lines, connecting you to the entire city.
The hotel’s location encourages exploration. We relished walks along the river, passing the Globe Theatre and stopping at the vibrant Borough Market en route. In the other direction, we discovered the charming Hayes Galleria, the historic HMS Belfast, and the iconic Tower Bridge.
A Smooth Checkout and Fond Farewell
Checkout was as efficient and friendly as the check-in process. The hotel conveniently stored our luggage for the rest of the day, allowing us to continue exploring London before our departure.
A Highly Recommended London Stay
Would we recommend staying at the Hilton London Tower Bridge? Without a doubt! This hotel exceeded our expectations, offering everything we desired for our London city break. We highly recommend this hotel and wouldn’t hesitate to return.
The interconnecting rooms are ideal for families, and if you have the opportunity, we strongly suggest upgrading to an executive room to enjoy the fantastic lounge and its breathtaking outdoor terrace.
