Are you eager to explore new places and soak up the sun, sea, and sand? At London Luton Airport (LLA), we’re ready to help you begin your adventure. We’re dedicated to making your travel experience smooth and stress-free, so we’ve put together a guide to help you navigate the airport.
Check-In and Security: Getting Started
Before you head off on your trip, you’ll need to check in and go through security. You can check in online for convenience, but if you have hold luggage or prefer to check in at the airport, simply visit the check-in area. Remember to arrive at the airport as recommended by your airline, typically 2-3 hours before your flight.
Important: Your airline is responsible for check-in, so double-check their specific procedures and opening/closing times.
To smoothly pass through security, make sure to have your travel documents (passport, boarding pass) ready. Remember that liquid rules are still in place, so ensure your liquids are in containers of 100ml or less and placed in a clear resealable bag.
Fast Track Security: For a Speedier Journey
Need a faster way through security? Consider using our Fast Track service, which is designed to get you to departures quicker.
Shop, Dine, and Relax: Enjoying Your Time at LLA
LLA is home to a diverse range of shops and restaurants, so you’ll have plenty to choose from. If you need a quiet moment, our Quiet Zone near Gate 17 offers a calm environment, particularly for passengers with disabilities who might need a peaceful space.
Looking for entertainment? We have a small children’s play area near Gate 7, as well as interactive games dotted around the terminal.
Need to charge your devices? You can find charging points near the Information Desk, in the departure lounge, and in our restaurants and cafes.
Remember that you can refill empty water bottles after security at the water fountains or ask our retailers for assistance.
When Your Flight is Ready
When it’s time to board your flight, you’ll be called to the gate. Make sure to have your travel documents ready (boarding pass, passport, and any country-specific documentation) as they’ll be checked at the gate.
Don’t forget: The gate closes 30 minutes before your flight departs.
Arrival and Baggage Claim
After landing, you’ll pass through the immigration hall, where biometric passport holders can use the e-Passport gates. Remember to remove hats and glasses for the camera, and anyone under 18 must be accompanied by an adult to use the gates.
Once your passport has been checked, collect your baggage from the indicated carousel. The baggage handling is managed by your airline’s Ground Handling Agent.
Lost and Found
Lost something? The Luggage-Point team manages lost property at the airport, and you can contact them for assistance. If you’ve left something on your flight, contact your airline’s Ground Handling Agent.
Getting to Your Destination
Our Onward Travel Centre near Burger King can assist with booking tickets and directing you to the correct bus bays.
Stay Informed and Enjoy Your Travel
At LLA, we’re always here to help you have a safe and comfortable travel experience. If you spot something concerning, please let us know.
If there are any delays or cancellations, listen to announcements, check for instructions from your airline, and contact them directly for the most up-to-date information.
Enjoy your trip, and we look forward to welcoming you back to LLA soon!
